Rumi’s Voice in English Language, Coleman Barks Left Us!

Coleman Barks was almost my inseparable stage companion for the last 40 years…In every concert, I recited several of his Rumi translations over my Yunus Emre songs…I just learned that he left his body and journeyed to the unknown…I hope his journey will be a peaceful one and he will have great togetherness with his beloved Rumi in the heavens. Here si one of his translations I recited in every concert from Honolulu to Manila, from Jakarta to Vanvouver over the years. Thanks Coleman, for your great service to humanity:

“Out Beyond Ideas of Wrongdoing and Rightdoing
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
Doesn’t make any sense.”
