The 20th International Konya Mystic Music Festival has commenced as part of Türkiye’s renowned Culture Route Festival.
The week-long celebration in Türkiye’s Central Anatolian province features captivating performances and ethereal concerts in honour of the esteemed poet and mystic Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi.
Konya’s central square bore witness to a whirling dervish performance, known as “Sema Ayin-i Serif,” in which 250 whirling dervishes participated.
Konya houses the tomb of the renowned Sufi scholar and poet Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi, who profoundly influenced Islamic poetry and whose mysticism continues to resonate among his readers today.
Each year, followers and admirers from around the world flock to this historical city to partake in the festive commemorations honouring the passing of the 13th-century luminary.
